Summer Advocacy Campaign Connects CF Community with Congress

September 2, 2008

11-year-old Will Corcoran talks to Representative Chris Shays [R-CT] about cystic fibrosis.
In August, CF Advocates visited their representatives in the U.S. House as part of the CF Foundation’s first ever national summer advocacy campaign, “House Calls.”

“I told my congressman about all of the things I have to do every day to keep my lungs healthy,” said 11-year-old Will Corcoran, after meeting with Representative Chris Shays [R-CT]. “He was very interested in learning about cystic fibrosis, and said I could call his office anytime if there was something he could do for people with CF.”

Meetings like these help members of Congress understand the unique challenges that face people with this disease and how they can get involved for CF. Inspire your elected officials to care about people with CF – Sign up to be a CF Advocate today!
