Dancing with Denver

December 4, 2006

 Dancing with Denver
Dance partners from local studio Adventures in Dance wowed the crowd with their fancy footwork.

CF Foundation supporters recently put on their dancing shoes for the Colorado Chapter’s first-ever Dancing with Denver event on November 9. The fund-raiser took place at the historic four-star Brown Palace Hotel in Denver.

Dancing with Denver featured performances by a local dance studio, Adventures in Dance, who dazzled the audience with its impressive routines. Taking a cue from the dancers, guests also spent much of the evening promenading around the ballroom. In addition, guests enjoyed a special concert by the Dave Camp Jazz Band.

Taking a break from the dance floor, the audience listened as Jim and Libby Colbert spoke about their 18-month-old Noah, who has CF. “The symptoms were few at first and his treatments were relatively simple…an hour of chest physiotherapy each day, a bit of extra salt in his milk and some special vitamins,” they said. “The daily regimen of treatments is now more complex, but with each addition to our routine, we think out loud, ‘Thank you for this treatment. It adds a day to Noah’s life.’” To help accelerate research so even more therapies may become available, guests rallied to raise a total of $122,000 for the entire evening.

Special thanks go to Honorary Chairs Don Johnson and Arlene Mohler Johnson for their leadership. Corporate sponsors included FirstBanks of Colorado, The Children’s Hospital of Denver, Pepsi Bottling Group, QLT USA, Inc., Mountain Chalet—Aspen, ARRIS, The Children’s Partners Foundation and Avista Adventist Hospital.
