U.S. House Passes Measure to Ensure Health Care for Millions of Children

On Wed., Jan. 14, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to reauthorize the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a vital program that provides health coverage for over 4 million children, including many children with CF.

Studies show that when children with CF have health coverage, they are more likely to get the regular treatments they need to live longer and healthier lives. SCHIP is an effective and efficient program that provides health care for children in working families that cannot afford coverage.

The U.S. Senate is expected to consider the SCHIP bill next week. Before the bill comes to a vote, let your Senators know that you support this important program.
